Transform Your Life with Our Intensive Outpatient Program
Are you ready to make a change in life but aren’t sure where to start? Taking that first step is a critical part of rediscovering who you are without drugs and alcohol. You can transform your life with an addiction treatment program that works with your individual needs and life schedule.
A professional assessment can help you determine what level of care is appropriate for you: traditional inpatient care, outpatient treatment, or something in between. Promises Brazos Valley in College Station, TX, offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that helps many people address addiction without the need for inpatient care. Call us at 888.483.7851 with questions or to set up an assessment.
Make the Promise Towards Recovery
Making that first promise to yourself to get better means admitting there is an addiction problem. How can you know if you are addicted to or abusing or misusing drugs? Here are questions to ask yourself:
- Am I taking any illegal substances such as heroin?
- Am I taking someone else’s prescription medication?
- Do I mismanage my own medication (either too much or in the wrong manner)?
- Do I take my own medication to get high or when I don’t really need it?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you are misusing drugs and/or potentially addicted. Our IOP addresses a range of substance use problems and mental health disorders, providing support for individuals facing these challenges.

Our intensive outpatient program provides structure and support to help you create a sober routine, make changes in your thoughts and behaviors, and establish a strong support network: a critical foundation of long-term recovery.
Who is a good candidate for outpatient treatment?
Our outpatient services are available for adults aged 18 or older in TX, including those with co-occurring mental health issues who would like to address those alongside substance use treatment. Medication management is provided by our expert psychiatric team as part of our comprehensive care.
Our intensive outpatient programs offers a higher level of care for those who require more support than traditional outpatient programs but do not need residential treatment.
How much time does IOP take each week?
Our IOP allows you the flexibility of maintaining your daily life and responsibilities. You can expect to spend several hours at least three days a week in a structured setting, usually with meetings scheduled either in the morning or evening.
What will I do in IOP?
Core components are group meetings, family therapy groups, individual therapy, and recovery skills education. Group sessions led by expert facilitators help participants understand and manage their emotions in the context of substance use. Evidence-based therapies such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) are used in both group and individual sessions.
The expected length of stay in the program varies based on individual needs and goals. Some benefits of our IOP include:
- Receiving fully accredited, evidence-based drug addiction treatment
- Being able to keep up with your regular life, including work and family responsibilities
- Healing inside of a strong recovery community with peers in similar situations
- Learning and practicing skills such as emotional regulation, self esteem, and resilience
Our drug rehab in Brazos Valley pairs our intensive outpatient program with 12-step based treatment models and holistic therapies to help you make lasting changes in your life. Upon completion of the program, you’ll receive referrals and ongoing support.
